On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate the performance of the Tourism Ministry in curtailing the spread of COVID-19 as tourists enter the country?
4/10 – Yes, I know they are trying but they need to be more considerate towards people on a whole, not only the tourists. They shouldn’t open up the place so quick, mi kinda vex about that.
3/10 – I think that they should have implemented all those preventative measures from before we had actual tourists coming in because if you check the statistics that we have been receiving, most of the positive cases were imported cases.
5/10 – I have mixed feelings about the situation. It’s understandable that we need the tourists here for foreign exchange and for the economy but I believe that ultimately you should have the interests of the people of the nation before anything else.
7/10 – They’re doing a good job to build back the economy but then again it’s having a bad effect on other businesses.
5/10 – The spreading of COVID is still going up. It’s not going down and it’s not stopping.
6/10 – We have more imported cases coming in since tourism open up.
6/10 – I think it’s a very commendable effort trying to support the revival or restoration of the Jamaican economy through the tourism sector which is one of the fastest ways to have foreign exchange earnings coming into the country. However, it is a bit unclear how the society as a whole is being protected from the risk of COVID-19 spread from incoming visitors.
7.5/10 – They have done well under the circumstances. However, there is a lot more work to be done.
